Areola Tattooing

Restorative Areola Tattooing/ Paramedical Tattooing

Areola Restorative Tattooing is a good option for anyone who may have lost their nipples due to Breast Cancer or Post gender affirming top surgery.

Did you know most paramedical tattoo artists receive little to no training? With almost no regulation in the field in Colorado - most paramedical tattoo artists also have zero artistic training, or body art training - Yikes!

Though I’ve always loved traditional body art tattooing, I’ve also always had a deeper desire to do something a bit more, meaningful. I also knew I didn’t want to dive into something so sacred without receiving the highest level of training possible. Even though I am an experienced artist, I wanted to make this move with the highest level of respect/regard for survivors as possible - so I enrolled in the industry’s finest; Stacie Rae’s A.R.T. program. Now, several months later, I can proudly say I officially completed this rigorous, in-depth training program! This paired with my 14 years of traditional body art experience and a lifetime of creating fine art, I am confident that my skill set, empathy and knowledge can help you or your loved ones, take the next step in the healing journey.

Whether you or your loved one are still wondering if this is the right step, or are chomping at the bit to have this procedure done - I’d love to take some time to chat about it.

I now know this is what I was meant to do with myself and my career - and that is a powerful force. Most importantly, I am honored to be a reliable, gentle, trustworthy and well educated resource for this community.

TIMING YOUR TATTOOS

Though you may be very excited to get started on your tattoo journey, it’s incredibly important to be responsible about the timeline your body needs to heal properly.

It is recommended to wait at least a minimum of six months after any breast procedure to do any tattooing. Though tattoo wounds are fairly superficial and easy to heal, there is a lot of deeper healing happening under the skin. If damaged/not fully healed breast tissue is tattooed prematurely, you run the risk of the areola tattoos not settling in the correct placement, difficulty healing, and the creation of irreversible scar tissue damage. Many untrained artists will disregard this timeline and tattoo clients prematurely, creating further issues around an already sensitive and difficult situation. It is crucial to wait the recommended time before any tattooing takes place.

This being said, It is also required that each areola tattoo receive at least two passes, the second ten weeks after the first. This patient approach ensures the proper, gentle administration of pigment into damaged tissue - giving us the best possible results. It is critical to the outcome of your tattoo, to not rush this process.
